System Requirements
THeVerb® currently supports Windows hosts.
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- VST3-compatible DAW host
- Internet connection for activation and license refresh
- Headphones recommended for spatial setup and evaluation
Installation
Download the latest THeVerb installer from Products, then run the installer and follow the prompts. The installer includes the plugin, the factory IR library, and the user manual.
- Download the current installer.
- Run the installer on Windows and complete setup.
- Open your DAW and scan for new VST3 plugins.
- Insert THeVerb and continue to activation.
THeVerb installs as a VST3 plugin in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\.
The factory IR library is stored in your user profile under
%appdata%\HartleyDSP\THeVerb\IRLibrary.
Note: License information is stored with your plugin settings.
Do not edit or delete those settings files unless support asks you to do so, or you may need to reactivate.
Activation
On first launch, THeVerb opens in Trial Mode. Click the orange Activate button in the plugin header to open the activation dialog.
- Open THeVerb in your DAW.
- Click Activate.
- Enter your account email and license key.
- Click Activate to complete online verification.
Important: Use the same email for account login, purchase or beta registration, activation, and support.
Licenses can be active on up to three machines at once. If needed, you can deactivate a machine from your account.
Full and Beta Licenses
- Full licenses activate once and are designed for ongoing use.
- Beta versions use a separate beta key from the beta area of your account.
- Beta keys are time-limited and may require periodic reactivation.
Activation Troubleshooting
- Check that you entered the same email used on your Hartley DSP account.
- Copy and paste the full key to avoid typing errors or extra spaces.
- Confirm that your internet connection, firewall, or VPN is not blocking activation.
Quick Start
This quick workflow is intended for experienced users who want to get results fast. Install and activate THeVerb first, then use the steps below.
- Choose a factory room, or load a User IR.
- Set source position in the XY pad. Headphones help you hear spatial changes clearly.
- Adjust Direct/Room Mix and Room Tone to fit the track.
- For multi-track sessions, enable Sync so room or preset changes can propagate across synced instances.
- Set gain match and distance options to taste. Distance attenuation makes sources quieter, and binaural delays give stronger directional cues, especially on headphones.
- Trim Reverb Time and adjust Fade Time to shape the tail for your mix.
For deeper guidance on controls, gain behavior, User IRs, and multi-instance workflows, see the THeVerb® manual.
Security Warnings
You may see browser or Windows warnings when downloading or opening installers. This happens because executable files are checked by security systems, and newer publishers or unsigned pre-release builds can be flagged.
When downloading from hartleydsp.com, these warnings are expected in some cases during beta and early release phases.
Safety check: Make sure the file came from hartleydsp.com before continuing.
If a warning appears for an installer from another source, cancel and contact support@hartleydsp.com.
